Anandi Gopal Joshi was the first Indian woman to graduate with an MD in western medicine in 1886. She inspired many young Indian women to pursue medicine when she was 19. When she graduated, Queen Victoria sent her a congratulatory message on becoming the First Female Indian Doctor.
Saalumarada Thimmakka is an Indian environmentalist from Karnataka who is famous for planting and caring for a whopping 385 massive banyan trees along a four-kilometre stretch on the highway.
